Our trip to Rwanda, day 1 and day 2!

Just 10 days ago we were coming home from what feels like a dream....the fact that the 5 of us were able to travel over 8,000 miles to Rwanda together to spend time with the kids we sponsor and build all kinds of relationships and learn so much about this beautiful country TRULY feels like a dream!

Thank you to each of you who prayed, encouraged us, supported us financially, prayed some more, or followed our journey...it took a village to get us there and we are so grateful!  We hope to be able to share bits of our experience with each of you over time.  I had been hoping to write on the blog while we were in Rwanda, but the internet connection wasn't strong enough to load the site.  I was able to post to facebook, so in case you haven't seen those updates, here are day 1 and day 2!

On Sunday, November 22nd, in Kigali:
A few weeks ago I wrote a letter to Grace to let her know we were coming to visit, and I told her where we'd be at church today. What a delight to walk in and find her there waiting for us!! We'll get to take her to lunch this week and make a visit to her home, but getting to worship with her and hug her this morning was a sweet unexpected blessing. I kept catching my girls watching her...after 4 years of writing letters they finally got to meet the one they've prayed for all these years!

The picture at the top of the blog is from 3 years ago exactly...look how much Grace has grown!  She is a sweet, caring, precious 13 year old now.  We absolutely love her dearly!

And later that day:
Despite the 8 hour time difference these girls did awesome today! We started the day at 8am which meant our bodies thought it was midnight, and they were champs. Now it's nearly midnight and everyone else is sleeping but I'm wide awake feeling like it's 4pm!

 To be continued!
